Owyn's first day of school - 2012

Today is Owyn's first day of school; he is starting Kindergarten.   This is his third school year, having two years of preschool before this. This is the first year that I have been here for the first day of school for either boy.  Every other year I have been deployed.

He's not really grimacing in pain here.  The sun is just bright.

Owyn is very excited about Kindergarten.  We went in last week and showed him his classroom and his cubby.  He got to meet his teacher and tour the room.  He also got to drop off all of his school supplies, which he thought was pretty fun.  There are a couple of kids from last year so he will start with some people he knows.

This morning he slept in, took a shower and got some breakfast.  He was very happy that we picked out a collared shirt for him so that he will "look very handsome".

I'm not sure where this goofy smile came from.
