Rhys likes getting his hair cut. I'm not sure if he likes the process or just the short hair. I suspect both. Mama likes for him to have short hair so this is an easy fix for both of them.
Last night Rhys walked into our room. He walked up to Mama and stood looking at her. When he had her attention he reached up and grabbed his hair with both hands and said, "Mama, I need a haircut."
Today, after school, Mama took Rhys to get a haircut. It is very sharp.

Sock is Broken!
Owyn is doing much better with his communication. There is still a lot that we don't understand, but he is improving. As he learns to talk he is telling us more about what is going on with him.
Lately he has decided that it really bothers him when his socks are not on right. They often get pulled down so that they are off of his heel. He sits down, looks up at us and says, "Sock is broken!"
As soon as we fix it he is off to play some more, until the next time. Now we need to teach him to fix his own broken socks.

Going to the store
My truck broke down yesterday. It was in the shop today, they got it fixed. After Tracy got off work she came home and got me and Owyn, (we were home today due to lack of transpo and Mama not wanting me to have too much fun on my own). We all went and picked up my truck, then headed to the store.
As Mama and the boys were driving, Rhys announced "All six of us are going to the store". Mama was a little bit confused. "There are only four of us Rhys." "No Mama. Daddy, Mama, Rhys, Owyn, Mama's car, Daddy's Car. Six." "You're right Rhys, that is six."

Box fun
The boys love boxes. I'm pretty sure all boys do. There are probably boys in Haiti, right now, playing in boxes.
Tracy got a package the other day. It came in a big box. After we unloaded it, I set it aside so the boys could play in it. At first they only put toys in it. A new box is just too wonderful to play in right away. You have to contemplate it. You have to move it around the house and examine it from all angles. You have to anticipate. Once you start playing in it its days are numbered. Boxes are made out of paper after all.
As of right now the box is still intact. That means they have at least one more night of box time.

Believe it or not, there are two boys in this box right now. I had to remove Owyn from the box for awhile tonight. There is no crying in a box. This is a boy rule. Crying in a box gets you removed from the box. Once he was all calmed down he was allowed back in. I'm not at all sure what game they are playing here.
Not so nasty fangs
Rhys went to the dentist last week. He is actually pretty good about it, though he got freaked out when she came at him with the scrapy/pointy/jabby tool. Our dental hygienist is a very nice lady who Rhys used to like. I had to lay down on the seat and hold him on top of me. Every time she came for his mouth he tried to get up and run away.
He was great for the actual Dentist, however. He was all smiles and open mouth. He did get to pick out a tooth brush, (Mater from Cars), and a toy (a car) and Christy gave him a bag full of stuff. He also, as he had no cavities, got a gift certificate for a free meal at Red Robin.
Following the dentist we went and grabbed Owyn and went to dinner, on Rhys. He liked that a lot better.
